Make a difference with youth!
PPL Scholars & Leaders after-school program, serving 1st-8th grade youth living at PPL affordable housing sites, needs volunteers from diverse backgrounds and experiences to work with young people to build essential literacy skills.
Program Dates & Times:
Scholars: Mondays (5-7 pm weekly), Nov. - May
Leaders: Tuesdays (4:30-6:30 pm weekly), Nov. 26-May
Location:
PPL Linden Place Apts. 5501 Boone Ave. N, New Hope
Qualifications:
•Consistent weekly program attendance
•Enthusiasm for helping young people learn
•Ability to lead in a positive, nurturing manner
Program Activities:
•Provide hands-on attention empowering youth to develop greater self-confidence and strong literacy skills.
•Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
•Work as a team to help youth reach their literacy goals through individual skill-building activities.
