October 9 th, 8am-11am Habitat Restoration Project in Tierrasanta

Volunteers are needed Saturday, October 9th from 8am-11am to help the Friends of Tierrasanta Canyons and the San Diego River Park Foundation with an important habitat restoration project. Activities will include watering of native plants, cutting and removal of invasives nonnative plant and tree species and restoration of a riparian habitat area that is part of the San Diego River watershed. This a great project for individuals and families interested in the local ecology of our region. A nature tour and talk will be included. Tierrasanta residents are highly encouraged to join us for this family friendly, environmentally important event. Tools, water and gloves will be provided. Community service hours can be verified for those that need them. Volunteers will meet at the corner of Santo Road and Antigua Blvd in Tierrasanta, zip code 92124.
