The Long Beach Playhouse is looking for motivated individuals to become Volunteer Ushers for our Mainstage and Studio theatres. Hours of operation are 6:30PM - 10:30PM. Friday and Saturday, and 12:30 PM - 4:30PM Sundays.
Volunteer Ushers are responsible for carrying out many important functions of the thatre's front-of-house operations. In many ways, the ushers are the foundation of house operations. The Playhouse ushers primary duties are to make our patrons feel welcome and comfortable when attending a performance, while preserving the natural order of a theatrical environment by instituting the Long Beach Playhouse's theatre policies.
Ushers are responisble for making and serving coffee and other refreshments, taking tickets, seating patrons, passing out programs, answering questions, performing house checks after a performance, and alerting the House Manager to any emergencies. One of the best perks is that the ushers get to watch the performances at no cost!

Established in 1929, the Long Beach Playhouse is a landmark in the City of Long Beach. Located at 5021 East Anaheim Street (across from Recreation Park), the Playhouse produces 16 shows annually with a new play or musical every three weeks on the Mainstage, or upstairs in the Studio Theater. Long Beach's flagship professional theater cuts across age, gender, ethnic, and cultural boundaries while being entirely self-supporting through ticket sales and membership support.
