You can help single mothers and their families through a period of transition by volunteering at the Homeward Bound Shelter of Pathways in Lynwood.

The YWCA encourages individuals and groups in the community to donate non-perishable food items to benefit our programs.

YWCA Pathways for Women is in need of dedicated volunteers who can up-keep the maintenance and organization of the food donations in our shelter food shed.

YWCA Pathways for Women offers shelter, transitional housing, classes, counseling and the South County Legal Clinic. The Homeward Bound Shelter includes five units of permanent, low-cost housing for single mothers and children.

  • Inspect donations for opened or ripped food items
  • Dispose of unneeded or unacceptable donation items
  • Create food boxes
  • Maintain general cleanliness and organization of the food shed which may include labeling or other organizational methods. Break down boxes and place them in recycling
