Want to know your volunteer efforts matter day to day? Consider literacy tutoring! No experience necessary. Training options may vary.
After training, you will be matched with an adult learner to work weekly on individual skills...maybe learn to fill out forms, gain reading help, speak English, handle basic math, or search on a computer. You don't need to be an expert in anything. You will be supported by Literacy Chippewa Valley staff with materials and guidance during your tutoring experience. Come share your abilities and care with us. Students appreciate their tutors!
Training:
Training may consist of a blend of online mini-courses and in-person meetings to offer an introduction to adult literacy and our program areas. Contact us with your name, address, email, and best phone. Tell us why you're interested and we'll reach you for options presently available! Thank you!

Mission Statement
Literacy Volunteers Chippewa Valley provides flexible literacy programs to help adults and their families reach their edcation, employment, and life goals.
Description
In 1986, Literacy Volunteers - Chippewa Valley was founded by a group of citizens who recognized a critical need for literacy programming within Eau Claire County. Early in our nearly 30-year history, we realized the same critical need in Chippewa and Dunn Counties and expanded operations to serve the entire Chippewa Valley. What began as our core one-to-one tutoring program now hosts a flexible array of additional programming including comprehensive family literacy, corrections education, citizenship training, workplace literacy, and inclusion of math and computer literacy. With offices and staff in all three counties, Literacy Volunteers Chippewa Valley is the only community-based volunteer adult literacy organization in this area of Wisconsin. Literacy Volunteers has become a recognized leader in the field of literacy at local, state and national levels.
