Volunteers support the daily functions of the Kids-TALK CAC, a community-based program that utilizes a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach to coordinate the investigation, assessment, treatment and prevention of child abuse in Wayne County. Kids-TALK CAC serves children through 17 years of age, providing comprehensive treatment to suspected child victims of sexual abuse, physical abuse, neglect, or other forms of psychological trauma. Services provided to children and their non-offending family members include forensic interviewing, advocacy, onsite medical evaluations, mental health services and outreach and prevention services.

As a Kids-TALK volunteer, you will be greeting people as they arrive at the center or medical clinic, interacting with clients (youth and adults) in the waiting room, assisting with making resource and presentation folders, labeling/stuffing folders, creating binders, sorting follow up surveys, helping with special events and fundraisers, organizing data, assisting with community outreach and education, and other duties as assigned.
