Volunteers offer comfort, support and companionship by reading to the patient, talking or just listening. They help provide a brief respite to families. Patient volunteers may provide music therapy, massage therapy and pet therapy if qualified. A background check and TB test are required and provided free. No experience is needed and training is provided. Volunteers are not permitted to administer medications, provide medical or personal hygiene care, or sign legal documents.

Medi volunteers are the heart of the Hospice team. We depend on our Hospice volunteers to assist in providing support and compantionship to our patients and their families needs during this time in their life.
