The Sun Valley Youth Center is an after-school program in the inner-city of west Denver. We are open Mon-Fri from 3-7 pm.

We provide 1:1 tutoring/mentoring, group tutoring, arts and crafts, sports and recreation, 1:1 and group counseling, computer classes, and snacks.

To provide an alternative after-school program that will facilitate and promote education, empowerment, self-esteem and spirituality for the youth of Sun Valley. Through the services of the SVYC we hope to link and transform the church, home, and school communities of Sun Valley.

Position Description:

If you have a knack for teaching kids and youth in the areas of math, science and literacy then come stop by Sun Valley for the opportunity to volunteer your skills in teaching and motivating these young ones in developing their potential. We do one hour of homework and then an hour of physical activity. From the grades of K-6.


Must be able provide own transportation to and from center. Positive Attitude, Background Checks required on all volunteers.
