The Denver Rescue Mission's chief goal is to meet people at their physical and spiritual points of need. We provide food, shelter, and clothing, along with practical programs of education, Christian teaching, and work discipline with the aim of returning the poor, needy, and homeless to society as self-sufficient, productive citizens
The Denver Rescue Mission (DRM), the oldest full-service Christian charity serving the needy in the Rocky Mountain region, was founded in 1892 and functions today as a non-denominational charity.
Denver Rescue Mission/Lawrence Street, home of the landmark "Jesus Saves" cross, is the Mission's flagship ministry and central outreach location. Tens of thousands of poor and needy people come to this facility each year for shelter, food, clothing, free medical care, client services, and chapel services. Up to 700 meals served daily in the dining hall.
Year-round shelter accommodates 200 men nightly.

We serve five meals a day, seven days a week at two facilities and have several volunteer shifts to assist with the serving of the meals.

5:30 a.m. - 6:45 a.m., 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., and 7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
All volunteers for the breakfast shift must be at least 18 years old. For the 10:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. shifts, the minimum age is 13 with adult supervision. For the 4:30p.m. shift, which is a shift used primarily to prepare for the later meal, the minimum age is 10 with adult supervision.
Our new facility, located at 6090 Smith Road is called The Crossing and provides housing for the men going through our long-term rehabilitation program as well as transitional housing for families. We have three serving shifts available at The Crossing: 5:45 am - 7:30 am; 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.; and 5:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. For all shifts the minimum age for volunteers is 10 with adult supervision.
