October 16 Compton Work Day!
Organization |
Description
Founded in 2005, The Compton Initiative seeks to realize the Kingdom of God in Compton through transformational partnerships between churches, schools, and families inside and outside of Compton.
The most visible work of The Compton Initiative are our Saturday clean up days in the city 4 times a year where we clean up and paint houses, parks, and schools. In the past four years, we’ve organized thousands of volunteers to renovate more than 300 homes, churches, school buildings and clinics in Compton.
But there’s much more work to be done!
Join us on Saturday, October 16, from 7am till noon, as we paint and clean up an entire elementary school and refurbishing a dozen homes and two public spaces. We’ve got some great partners involved, including Saddleback Church, SeaCoast Grace Church, and Biola University.
But the city of Compton is not going to be transformed overnight, so we need all the partners we can find!
It's a great opportunity for families and friends to get involved in their community!
