ORGANIZATION: Seniors Assistance Center

Be a Friendly Visitor to a senior citizen in the Norridge, Harwood Heights, or Unincorporated Norwood Park Township communities who are lonely, isolated, homebound, or need assistance to leave their homes.

One of the most important aspects of the program is the real friendship that can develop between the senior and the friendly visitor.

Program activities are simple and fun, such as having coffee and conversation, reading aloud, playing a favorite game, sharing memories, writing a letter, doing a craft, planning an occasional outing like a short walk or grocery shopping.

Friendly Visitors are volunteers who are screened and trained before they are matched with a homebound or lonely senior in need of a friend.
