Mission Statement
The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Chater and the Fundamental Principles of the Interantional Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to those affected by disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.
Description
The local Capital Area Chapter has been apart of the Big Bend Community for over 91 years! No matter where you go...whether it's a major natural disaster or a personal crisis in your own home, the Capital Area Chapter is there to give immediate and practical help. During the past 91 years, the Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross has provided a helping hand by reaching out to local residents, and last year touched the lives of more than 10,500 people in the eight counties we serve. The American Red Cross provided a "helping hand" that was needed following a disaster, helping to get loved ones home from the military during an emergency, training community members in first aid, CPR, swimming, and HIV/AIDS courses.
