Description

Compassionate care representatives maintain contact with the family of a pet under home hospice care checking on the health needs and care requirements of the pet. The contact, usually by phone or alternatively email, is two way and intended to provide the companion a compassionate link to hospice care and a friendly, sympathetic ear to help the family through difficult circumstances. In addition the case worker contact gives hospice the ability to monitor the progress of the pet's condition and intervene with additional care as required.

Skills

  • Nursing: Nursing, homeopathic and or first aid skills help compassionate care representatives accurately assess the general health of a pet under hospice care with oversight of a licensed veterinarian.
  • Verbal and listening skills: The ability to speak accurately and to listen to others who are experiencing stress and provide support to the whole family.
