Closet Treasure Sale Clothing Couriers help Dress for Success Seattle (DFSS) immensely by transporting high-end designer and couture clothing for the annual Closet Treasure Sale held the weekend of October 2. DFSS is a clothing resource available to low-income women who are actively job-seeking and need interview-appropriate clothing. DFSS promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Clothing donations need to be picked up on an on-call basis as donations trickle in before the sale. We need the assistance of flexible, responsible drivers to be ambassadors of the YWCA and DFSS to pick up clothing which will be sold at the sale, generating much-needed revenue for the program.

Responsibilities include:

  • Adheres to YWCA policies and procedures
  • Using own vehicle, picks up clothing donations on an on-call basis and transports it back to DFSS in downtown Seattle
  • Seeks to create sustainable partnership with the cleaners by greeting and thanking them on behalf of the YWCA and Dress For Success Seattle
  • Educates donors on the needs of YWCA and Dress For Success and how collecting clothing donations will be put to good use in the program
  • Offers all donors the option to fill out an in-kind donation receipt for tax purposes
  • Returns completed in-kind donation receipts to Dress For Success Program Manager
  • Drops off donations at YWCA Dress for Success Program at 1118 Fifth Avenue, parking in the Loading Zone and requesting assistance with transporting donations to the basement if needed.
