American Red Cross Tampa Bay Chapter is looking for a handful of volunteers who are interested in working in one of the Hillsborough County Offices for four hours a week during non-disaster times and up to several consecutive days during a disaster.

During everyday business, Staffing and Office Support Volunteers will assist in the engagement, tracking, career planning, retention and development of current Disaster Volunteers.

Everyday tasks will include:

  • filing
  • data entry
  • phone calls/emails to volunteers
  • scheduling people for training courses
  • following up with volunteers
  • hosting meetings

During a disaster, Staffing Volunteers will be responsible for assisting all volunteers who are assigned to the relief operation. This will include organizing and tracking the hotel accomodations for all visiting volunteers, assisting in assigning volunteers to shelters, inputing data in the volunteer tracking database, distributing staff cards and keeping track of other important information. This may also include deploying volunteers to disaster relief operations that are occuring in other areas.

Training is required and will be provided.
