The volunteer for this position needs to be knowledgeable about reading skills for low to advanced level readers. The volunteer must be able to explain and demonstrate reading concepts such as: recognzing and recalling details; text clues; identifying and recognizing sequence; finding main idea; comparison and contrasting; drawing conclusions; cause and effect; summarizing and paraphrasing; prediciting outcomes; identifying facts and opinions at the most basic/elementary level possible, progressively moving the student to higher reading levels.
