The Mission of the SHINE Program is to ensure that healthcare consumers have a competent, committed and compassionate consumer focused network, of staff and volunteers, who provide accurate and objective information through community programs. Bilingual (English & Spanish) SHINE Counselors provide additional support to the Spanish speaking community.
At Mystic Valley Elder Services (MVES) we provide practical solutions to everyday living. We work with older families, adults, caregivers and health care professionals to identify and access the many services and programs that allow elders to remain safe and independent in their homes.
MVES is seeking bilingual volunteers, who are fluent in English and Spanish, to volunteer as SHINE counselors. After a comprehensive training program, SHINE counselors are ready to provide unbiased information about health insurance options to elders and Medicare beneficiaries of all ages. As a volunteer, you may be based at local senior centers, elderly housing and other accessible locations in your community.
If you like a challenge and are interested in providing an important service to members of your community, please contact MVES to learn how to SHINE!
Mystic Valley Elder Services values diversity and full inclusion of all members of the community
