GoodGuides matches caring mentors with 16 & 17 year olds to help the youth make positive choices, develop plans for the future, and create a "Ready to Work" portfolio!
All mentoring takes place at REACH on the Tacoma Goodwill campus and the unique session structure allows for fun activities as well as time to connect with other participants. Mentor-only support time is also included to ensure that strong, rewarding relationships are created between mentors and protégés, and GoodGuides staff is on-site during all sessions to assist as necessary.
Mentors are asked to commit to an hour and 15 minutes per week. Peer mentors are 18-21 and adult mentors are 22+. GoodGuides includes both one-on-one mentoring as well as team mentoring.
GoodGuides mentors don't need to have all the answers for their protégés, or know how to teach every "Ready to Work" skill. If you are willing to offer hope and inspire our young people to overcome challenging life situations, you will make an exceptional mentor!

Mission Statement
Goodwill changes lives by helping people with disabilities or disadvantages go to work.
Description
Goodwill of the Olympics and Rainier Region is about people helping people. Since 1922, we have actively worked to achieve our mission of helping people expand their employment opportunities and occupational capabilities. In that time we have grown to become one of Washington State's largest nonprofit providers of employment and training services for people with disabilities and other barriers to employment.
We believe in the transforming power of work. Employment means more than a paycheck. Employment means self-confidence, independence, and stability. We are committed to helping people perform in a competitive work environment by teaching them the skills and techniques required in today's workforce. Goodwill provides tools for growth and building a future.
