Imagine gathering water in a geri can from a watering hole where cattle have just been drinking. Now imagine you are a young child and you have to carry that geri can for 2 miles. Life is not easy for the children of Uganda.

COVE Alliance (Children's Outreach and Vocational Education) is developing a Finance team to help lead them through an exciting stage of growth. COVE is a 501(c) (3) organization that raises funds to support a school in Uganda, Africa. The school developed from one man's dream to build a well in his home town and it now serves K-5 providing housing, food, clothing and an education to over 200 children.

The ideal person for this position will have experience using Excel to prepare spreadsheets and trend charts. Various systems knowledge is a plus. QuickBooks experience is helpful but not necessary. Please include your resume for consideration.

Mission Statement

COVE Alliance is a charitable organization serving the orphaned and disadvantaged children of Uganda. Our mission is to provide social services such as shelter, food, healthcare and education in a Christian atmosphere that fosters love and shared responsibilities. Healthcare, education and vocational training will focus on breaking the cycle of poverty and preparing the children to sustain themselves and their families in the future.

Description

COVE Alliance was founded in April 2005. We received our 501c3 in Dec. of 2006. Our mission in the U.S. is to raise funds to support the projects in Uganda.

Our first project was to set up a sponsorship program and we now have over 166 sponsored children. Part of the sponsorship program includes providing healthcare for the children. Because there was no access to health care in the Kapeeka area we built a clinic that now services the needs of not only our students but also the community.

In Feb. 2010 the first two grades of the primary school opened. The Sue Gaubatz building was completed in 2011. It houses grades 3-4-5 and the adm. offices. Construction is now underway on a kitchen that will be used to provide meals for the children. The long range plans call for a Vocational School. Learning a skill will prepare the students to get a job and provide for their families.
