FiftyForward RSVP is looking for adults over age 55 to tutor GED preparation students.
The Salvation Army-Life Skills Program provides GED preparation, job skills training, and job placement services to individuals who want to build better lives for themselves, their families, and our community.
Tutors work with one student to help them pass the tests necessary to attain a GED.
Materials are provided. Tutors do not require any special training; however, the Salvation Army will provide intial training.
Student outcomes are measurable through testing. Student and tutor are informed of grade-level advances each month. Results have been extraordinary and very fulfilling for students and tutors.
Initial interview and orientation for this opportunity take place at FiftyForward RSVP, 174 Rains Avenue, Nashville, TN 37203.
