Project EXCEL is an after-school program that supports youth who have both academic difficulties and social and emotional challenges. To combat both of these issues, Project EXCEL provides academic assistance and tutoring, in addition to enrichment activities that focus on healthy decision-making topics like drug prevention and bullying.

Project EXCEL volunteers would provide one-on-one tutoring to multiple middle school youth (that is, the volunteer would hop from student to student throughout the tutoring time on a need basis). The volunteer will also aid in the flow of the enrichment activity (the volunteer will not have to prepare the activity, just simply monitor the students and help in the execution).

Duration: Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:45 to 4:30 p.m. and Thursdays from 2:45 to 4 p.m.

On Mondays and Wednesdays, we provide tutoring and the enrichment activity; Thursdays, however, are just an extra homework help day (no additional activities are provided).
