Like to give back to the community? Like a truly meaningful experience? Like hands-on care? Join us in caring for the terminally ill at a 2-bed residence located in Scotia, NY. Volunteer in a relaxed setting, a true home-like atmosphere. Your reward will be 110%!
The Home is funded by the community and relies significantly on volunteers to provide hands-on care and support to patients and families, including laundry, meals, etc. Individuals who stay at the home do not have an adequate caregiving system and little to no options available. Residents stay is free of charge.

Description
Schenectady Community Home, aka The Joan Nicole Prince home, is dedicated to providing a caring residence for terminally-ill patients in need of a home during their final days. Located in a residential neighborhood in Scotia, NY, the home provides 24 hour bedside care to two residents at a time who have a prognosis of 3 months or less, and who lack the support and options to remain at home during their last months of life. The home is primarily staffed by volunteers and relies totally on community support for funding.
