Description
The Salinas Public Library needs your creativity, commitment and talent!
We just received a grant from the ALA (American Library Association) and REFORMA to host a Noches de Cuentos event on March 20th at Cesar Chavez Library. We will be collecting family stories from elders (grandmothers and grandfathers) and others in the community.
We need your talent to compile these stories.
Great opportunity to gain experience editing and self-publishing.
Skills
- Organization: Be able to collect the stories and organize them by theme, and content (or other creative means). Be able to think about how the materials could be put together as a collection, adding photos, etc.
- Editing (Bilingual is a plus): Type and compile stories, correcting spelling and grammer mistakes. Selecting stories, shortening others if necessary.
- Follow thru: See project through to completion. Work successfully with Literacy Team, calling the writers of these stories if necessary. Following through on publication process.
