As a Community Hospice Friend, you can do many things. Hold a hand. Use a computer. Make a speech. Bake a cake. Ring up a sale. Listen to cherished memories. Give a hug. Touch a heart. Change a life - maybe your own.
You can help in two main areas: administration and direct patient care opportunities.
More specific programs include: Camp Healing Powers, Community PedsCare, Complementary Care, Memory Bear Workshops, Pet Therapy, Speakers Bureau, Spiritual Care.

Mission Statement
Develop a variety of volunteer opportunities for community services for people, aged 55 and better, willing to share their experience, abilities, and skills for the betterment of their community and themselves.
Description
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program is funded in part by a federal program entitled The Corporation for National and Community Service and the City of Jacksonville.
The dual purpose is to engage seniors 55 and better in volunteer service that meets critical community neeeds; and to provide a high quality volunteer experience that will enrich their lives.
