Make a difference and inspire local youth while having fun! Share your life experiences with students through hands-on, easy to use activities. JA's programs teach concepts of work readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy to young people in Southern Colorado. Junior Achievement is a partnership between the business community, educators, and volunteers all working together to encourage young people to dream big and reach their potential.
After completing a Volunteer Sign-Up form (attached), volunteers are matched to local teachers who have requested a specific grade-level program. Volunteers and teachers work out a schedule to present the 5-7 lessons. Short orientations are provided to all new volunteers where they receive their all-inclusive program kits. Elementary grade programs have five 30-45 minute lessons, Middle grade programs have six 45-minute lessons, and High School programs have seven 45-minute lessons. During each lesson, the volunteer presents the new terms and concepts and then the students participate in an active learning experience. Teachers remain in the classroom to assist.
Give back to our community by volunteering with JA this year. It's a fun way to positively impact local K-12 students in public and private classrooms. Last year, local volunteers presented JA programs to almost 28,000 students in the Southern Colorado region. Join our Volunteer Team!
