AccentCare is currently seeking friendly, well-mannered and calm dogs of all shapes and sizes (and their people!) to join our Loyal Friends Pet Team.
Pets must be certified through TDI or another licensed and insured pet therapy program.
These Special Volunteers are needed to provide companionship, comfort and even some wet kisses to our terminally ill patients and their families.
Our opportunities are flexible and based upon your availability. Pet Team Volunteers serve both patients and families in the home and/or nursing facility within Southeastern Wisconsin.
Once trained, volunteers visit on a schedule that works best for the Pet Team and patient. Sometimes a volunteer will choose to visit several people in one building on the same visit.

Description
Hospice is a vision of caring that gives patients with terminal illness choices about how they spend the last days of their lives. Volunteers fill a unique roll in supporting the patient and family as they are the one member of the team whose role is to simply be there for them-- no poking or prodding, no giving medicines or taking temperatures-- the volunteer is there to provide a comforting presence and practical support.
