Matchmaking By voluteering at a local animal shelter helping people and pets come together. Time Periods When Assistance is Needed One volunteer during adoption hours, 7 days per week.     • All volunteers must attend the volunteer orientation, observe for one hour at the Shelter's front desk, and attend canine/feline handling trainings as well as Matchmaker training prior to becoming a Matchmaker. Additional training and workshops related to this activity will be offered. Training topics will include dog and cat behavior, adoption counseling and more.
