Companionship volunteers offer friendship and support to our patients and families in a variety of ways throughout SouthWestern PA. Volunteers can serve as companions by offering.

  • a friendly supportive presence
  • a listening ear
  • participation in activities (games, music, etc.)
  • assistance with correspondence
  • reading to the patient
  • errand running, etc...

Volunteers are strongly encouraged to use their time, skills and interests in whatever way best meets the needs of our patients and their family members. Complete Volunteer Training and Certification is provided in both a group and individual setting.
