Description

The services currently offered by STARRY began in Williamson County 30 years ago, when Texas Baptist Children's Home (TBCH) opened its first emergency shelter. On March 1, 1991, TBCH began non-residential community-based counseling services as part of the STARRY program. The Counseling Program was and is funded through the State of Texas Services to At-Risk (STAR) grant program.

In 2001, STARRY, Inc. was incorporated and became an independent 501 (c)(3), nonprofit agency. In 2004, STARRY added Foster Care to its services. STARRY's offices are located at 1300 North Mays in Round Rock.

STARRY currently operates an Emergency Shelter Program in three cottages, all located on the main campus of TBCH, and serves children birth to 17 years old who have been removed from their homes by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (TDFPS) due to abuse and/or neglect.

STARRY provides STAR crisis intervention services to Williamson and surrounding counties. Services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The program provides services to children and youth and their families. Services include individual, family and group counseling, along with universal child abuse prevention services. Counseling is strength-based and solution-focused.
