Live longer and enjoy life more when you volunteer to make a difference. Senior Companions earn a non-taxable stipend for providing friendship and caring suport to older adults in need and receive travel reimbursement to and from home visit to their client. Orientation and training available to men and women age 55 and older who meet the program's federal guidelines. No prior experience necessary.

Description
Help Adults in Need of Extra Assistance
Through the Senior Companion Program, people age 55 and older provide voluntary care and assist disabled and frail, homebound adults to remain independent. Senior Companions also provide relief to family caregivers in need of a break for a short time during the day. serve frail older adults and their caregivers, adults with disabilities, and those with terminal illnesses. Senior Companions usually visit with two or more clients on a weekly basis for a minimum of 15 hours per week. If you are interested in being a Senior Companion, you must meet income eligibility requirements, and for your time you will receive a modest, tax-free stipend. Other benefits include travel reimbursement, some meals during service, a free annual medical exam and liability insurance while on duty. Pre-Service orientation and monthly training sessions provided.
