At this present time we need volunteers to host a Cell Phone Collection drive to be a collections site for the collection of used cell phones. We need volunteers to host a Cell Phone Collection Drive to collect used cell phones for our program, if you are interested in hosting a Cell Phone Collection drive in your community such as your workplace, community centers, your local church, local businesses, your local schools and your local grocery stores, please contact us with the day and times you will host the event. Once you have collected all the used cell phones ship them or drop them off at The Gift Of A Helping Hand Charitable Trust, 17148 Waltham, Detroit, MI 48205, ATTN: Fundraiser Director.

Help support The Gift Of A Helping Hand Charitable Trust in our mission in eliminating illiteracy, poverty, hunger, domestic violence and homelessness in southeastern Michigan, including Wayne, Macomb, Oakland and Monroe counties.

By donating your cellular phone to us, you will not only help us raise funds for the organization's programs, services and activities, but you will also be helping a needy family, a child, a domestic violence victim, a physically ill individual in need of 911 assistance, a senior and an individual in need of shelter, food, clothing, shoes, coats, boots, hats, toys and books.

The Gift Of A Helping Hand Charitable Trust is collecting used cell phones on an on-going basis for the benefit of The Gift Of Giving Every Penny Count Fundraiser, who will receive a monetary donation for each phone received.

The phones can be recycled and sent to areas with economic necessity. Some phones are also refurbished and given to those who are in need of 911, emergency only, communications. "Cell phones contain many toxins and are very hazardous to our environment and they should not end up in landfills."

All cell phones, regardless of age or condition, will be accepted. Make certain to deactivate your phone as well. "We're very excited about this opportunity", said Cathy P. Russell.
