Truman Heritage Habitat for Humanity
Eliminating poverty housing one family at a time.

Volunteers Urgently needed to volunteer with our construction staff.
We have several exciting projects we are working on and we need your help! (no experience needed)
Help families move into their new Habitat Homes and Homeowners keep their homes by building, rehabbing, and repairing homes.

Help build or rehab a house!

We need your help! Please sign up for a few construction volunteer shifts. No experience needed. We are so excited to have so many great construction projects going!

Schedule:

  • Wed: Our regular Wed crew continues their great work, you can join them! 8a-2p.
  • Thurs/Fri we can accommodate individuals or groups of up to 15 people 8a-2p.
  • Saturdays: fill up quickly with groups, but we also have room for some individuals on some days. 8a-2p.

Construction:
Volunteering on a construction site requires no previous experience - we teach all the building skills necessary on-site. You are more than welcome to gather a group and schedule a build with friends, faith community, or your job. An ideal-sized group would consist of about 8-12 individuals, but we can fit individuals and groups of 3 or more. Construction workdays are typically from 8a-2p or 9am - 3 pm depending on the season., and the tasks vary from week to week - anything from framing walls to installing doorknobs. Specific job site locations vary but are all in Eastern Jackson County. All of our volunteers must be at least 16 years of age. Youth age 16-17 must be supervised by responsible adults at a ratio of not less than one adult over the age of 21 for every four youth.

We require everyone to wear closed-toed shoes and ask for appropriate clothing (please consider the weather and work conditions). No skills or tools are needed, just a willingness to learn new skills and to volunteer.

If interested, contact Lindsay Browne at LBrowne@Trumanhabitat.org 816-461-6551, and we will get you on our volunteer schedule. Thank you for your interest!

You can register for shifts using this link (if a group already has the day reserved, check with Lindsay if there is room for an individual before signing up):
