CFHI Student in Ecuador

Child Family Health International (www.cfhi.org), a non-profit, global health organization located in downtown San Francisco, is looking for serious candidates for program and outreach/marketing related internships and volunteer positions. Volunteers and Interns will get a chance to work side by side with our small staff in San Francisco. This is a great opportunity to learn about all aspects of running an international nonprofit and make tangible contributions to our team.

For Interns, CFHI requires a minimum commitment of 3-6 months and 20 hrs per week. For volunteers, we ask that you commit a minimum of 4 hours per week for 3-6 months. Interns work on long-term, complex projects while volunteers generally help with short-term projects and administrative tasks.

Intern/volunteer responsibilities will include a combination of the following:

Marketing & Communications
Tasks relating to marketing and student program recruitment:

* Compose blog posts, work on scheduling and curating social media content * Organize and update online photo galleries,

* Aid in designing marketing materials and assisting with annual report design

* Assist with general administrative duties such as mailing and data entry

* Other ongoing projects as designated by CFHI staff

Student Program Development
* Assist with general administrative duties related to CFHI's global health service learning programs
* Assist with several ongoing projects such as program material updates, website program updates, community health initiative tracking, etc.
* Other ongoing projects as designated by CFHI staff

We are looking for applicants that have:
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills
* Eye for detail (perfectionists welcome!), well organized, skilled in setting priorities
* Work effectively both as team-member & independently
* A hard working and congenial attitude


All positions are unpaid and are located in the CFHI San Francisco office. About

Dr. Evaleen Jones launched CFHI in 1992, after witnessing babies being born on newspapers during her travels to Ecuador. Since then, CFHI has successfully expanded around the world. We now work with hundreds of international partners in the medical profession who provide services in Bolivia, Ecuador, India, Mexico, Argentina, South Africa, and Uganda. Our partnership-based programs have grown from one to over 20:

- India: Tropical Disease Challenges, Rural Rotation, Intro to Traditional Medicine, Palliative Care, Ophthalmology, Maternal & Child Health, Community Medicine
- South Africa: Challenges to Healthcare, HIV/AIDS
- Mexico: Clinical Rotation, Tropical Medicine, Womens Reproductive Health, Beginner Spanish & Healthcare
- Ecuador: Beginner Spanish & Healthcare, Reproductive Health, Andean Community Health, Urban & Rural Health, Amazon Community & Indigenous Health, Dental & Oral Health, Sexual Health
- Bolivia: Pediatric Medicine, Remote Healthcare
- Argentina: Hospital Medicine, Primary Care, Nursing
- Uganda: Nutrition & Sustainable Ag., HIV & Maternal/Child Health

Providing a comprehensive curriculum to approx. 720 students a year, CFHI has matured into a nationally recognized organization. With the support of these students, our partners serve hundreds of thousands of patients in rural and urban underserved communities around the world every year.
