South Eastern Arizona Community Unique Services, Eastern Arizona College's Black Student Union, Home Depot, and the RSVP volunteers of Safford, AZ are collaborating to host a Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration.
The event, "A Celebration of Diversity" will take place Saturday, Jan. 16th from 11:30-4:30pm on campus at Eastern Arizona College. Attendees should expect a synopsis of MLK history, panel presentation of oral history, a bbq luncheon, performances and speakers, and a youth talent show! Cost of admission is one can of food (to be donated to My Neighbors Pantry after the event).

Volunteer Southern Arizona, founded in 1965, is a private nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening communities through effective volunteerism. We're best known as a clearinghouse for volunteers, but we also deliver creative solutions to community problems by harnessing the power of volunteerism in a number of other ways. We directly engage young people and adults in a variety of programs that better the community and encourage life-long involvement in volunteer activities. And we support hundreds of other nonprofit organizations that use volunteers by helping them develop their volunteer programs, and by training, referring, and honoring volunteers.
