Relay For Life of Brunswick Volunteers
Organization |
Description
Relay For Life, the signature activity of the American Cancer Society, is an overnight, team event that not only raises funds for cancer research and patient advocacy, it offers the local community a way to get involved in the fight against cancer. Teams are formed by families, churches, organizations, schools, businesses, health care professionals, neighborhoods and more - all joining together to fight back against cancer. Teams raise money prior to the event, then come prepared to camp out and enjoy the activities and the celebration of life. The overnight walk is meant to reflect a cancer patient’s journey through the disease - ending with a new sense of hope as the sun rises in the morning. Walking around a track symbolizes that there is no finish line until we find a cure for cancer. The 2010 Relay For Life of Brunswick will be held June 11-12 at Brunswick High School and is currently seeking committee members and team captains.
Skills
- Committee positions are available in various areas and each volunteer would be able to select their area of interest that would allow them to utilize their talents. Groups may join by forming a relay team.
