To do this summer?
Join the summer Teen Volunteer Program at Avalon Hospice.
Area teens, age 16 and older, are invited to apply for the summer Teen Volunteer Program at Avalon Hospice. While volunteer applications are accepted all year long, this 8-week program runs from end of May through July.
Volunteering is a rewarding activity that allows teens to experience increased responsibility within a structured environment, make a difference in their community and create new friendships. Volunteers play an important role in the services offered at Avalon. The summer program allows teens to experience working in a professional atmosphere first hand and is ideal for teens considering a career in the medical field.
Interested teens are required to complete an application, provide a letter of recommendation and consent to a drug and TB test. Teen volunteers must commit to work a minimum of 2 hours per week for the summer period. New volunteers must attend a training session prior to beginning.
To request an application or for more information call 731-736-2046 email: wperry@avalon-hospice.com
Internship opportunities also available! Friends, Families, Groups & Parents Welcomed.
"The highest reward for a person's work is not what they get for it, but what they become because of it."- J. Ruskin
