Community Gems raises funds through private grants and events. The primary means of fundraising is "Celebrating Community Gems." This annual holiday gala brings together 800 party goers, including corporate sponsors and the families we serve. This year's program offers more than ever. Thanks to a new partnership with the City Mission Society of Boston, attendees will have a chance to interact, give back, and celebrate the holidays while supporting Community Gems. The Boston Higher Education Resource Center (HERC), based at Congregation Leon de Juda, serves the students and families of Greater Boston. Our services are based on four thematic areas: Education and Career Exploration, Leadership Development, Character and Life Skills, and Parent Partnership. We hope to awaken and empower participants to realize their potential to transfrom their lives and communities.

We offer, ESOL, Mentoring, College Prep, SAT prep, and Adult Computer Literacy progams.
