Our Salvation Army Thrift Store needs you! Because we are such a large store, serve so many people, and operate on a limited budget we cannot do the job without a strong cadre of competent volunteers. Our small staff is needed to carry out the innumerable "behind the scenes" tasks required to fill the sales floor with the goods that are donated on a daily basis. Because of this we are in great need of volunteers to serve as cashiers and "front line" sales clerks. Your tasks would include greeting customers, assisting them by directing them to various areas of the store according to their needs and, most importantly, operating the cash register. The cashiering is done through a simple, electronic cash register with department, discount, number keys, etc. clearly marked. The volunteer cashier/sales clerks positions consist of 2 separate 3 1/2 hour shifts; M-Sat from 10:00am to 1:30pm and M-Sat from 1:30pm-5:00pm.

A volunteer could work any number of shifts per week that he or she chooses. We would ask only that you be consistent with your shift(s), except of course if special circumstances require your presence elsewhere.

• Prior experience in retail sales and operating a cash register would be helpful but are not neccessary due to the simplicity of our sales operations and equipment.
