ORGANIZATION: Emerald Youth Foundation

Volunteer as a tutor for high school, middle school or elementary age students in an urban afterschool or evening program at a JustLead learning center or church/faith-based organization.

The goal is for students to do well enough in each grade to finish high school, complete college or further training, and find a good job or career to reach their God-given potential.

Tutors engage in consistent one-on-one or small group teaching in a specific subject area (available only during the school year) with resources and support provided by Emerald Youth staff.

Volunteers may serve one or more days per week and a minimum of 1 hour each week for at least a semester.

Training for elementary and middle school positions available August 22, 10-12; or, September 12, 10-12.

Training for high school positions available September 26, 10-12.

Emerald Youth Foundation is a Christian, urban youth and community ministry in Knoxville, TN serving over 2,000 young people annually. Emerald Youth’s ministry is implemented through a network of more than 18 churches and faith-based organizations to raise up a large number of urban youth who love Jesus Christ and become effective leaders who help renew their communities.
