This holiday season you could adopt a family and help make this a great holiday. You would be given age / size information for a mom and her kids and asked to purchase a few items for each family member. This program is for the 20 single mothers and their children living at Wayside Supportive Housing. Please Help these families enjoy a great family holiday.

Additional Details:

  • Wish lists from families will be available by November 29, 2013
  • Gifts must be delivered or picked up by December 16th, 2013.
  • Estimated amount to spend per person $100 or more per family (depends on size of family)
  • Wish lists may include - Towels, sheet sets, pots & pans, pajamas, bath robes, comforters, kids clothes and shoes, jewelry, lotion, perfume, books, gift cards, board games, art supplies

Mission Statement

The mission of Wayside House is empower women to recover sobriety, identity, family, home and community by providing treatment, housing and supportive services. Wayside House is a well-respected Minnesota non-profit 501(c)(3) organization with over 60 years of experience in helping low-income women overcome addiction and mental illness. Since its roots as a homeless shelter Wayside House has grown to provide comprehensive, intensive services for women with chemical dependency and mental illness.

Description

Wayside House Programs

Wayside Treatment Center, located in St. Louis Park, is a residential substance abuse treatment program for women who also may have a mental health diagnosis. Aftercare and outpatient treatment services are available as well.

Wayside Supportive Housing is a safe, affordable permanent housing option for single women in recovery and their children. Twenty units and four scattered-site apartments are available. The sober environment and the support of peers help women in recovery stay on track with sobriety.

Wayside Family Treatment provides comprehensive family treatment services that promote both recovery from addiction and family reunification. Children under 11 may live with their mothers at Incarnation for a period of six months or more while their moms receive treatment and supportive services.

Wayside Wellness Center provides outpatient chemical dependency and mental health treatment with the goal of intervening earlier before the disease has significantly altered the quality of life of women.
