Hand washing is the single most valuable tool in disease prevention; therefore the American Red Cross of Greater Indianapolis' Scrubby Bear presentation is an invaluable tool in keeping children healthy. The Scrubby Bear program is a national program new to Indianapolis which has been extremely popular due to the cases of H1N1 on the rise. This fun, short 20-25 minute presentation teaches kindergarten and first graders proper hand washing technique as well as the importance of hand washing in staying healthy. Volunteers will be provided with training, including a detailed script, and all the materials necessary before going into area classrooms.
