Mission Statement

Wagner Farm Arboretum seeks to enrich, educate and inspire the community by increasing environmental awareness and recreational opportunities. The Wagner Farm Arboretum Foundation is a non-profit, self-supporting organization that raises funds to provide the public with a suburban conservancy that promotes sustainability and conservation of natural resources, and provides underserved communities with fresh organic produce.

Description

WFA is:
1. A Giving Garden dedicated to growing fresh, organic produce for those in need and is run entirely by volunteers. Since Its creation in 2007 until the end of 2022, the GG has donated over 586,000 lbs of fresh organic food to underserved communities.
2. A Children’s Garden on approximately ½ acre of enclosed land so children can safely roam and explore. Includes a hedge maze, a large gazebo for shade, picnic benches and a set of outdoor musical instruments for children to play.
3. A Community Garden with 110 plots for the public to rent and grow their own organic food and flowers.
4. A Senior Garden has 16 raised beds so that those 70+ or anyone with a disability can also keep active and garden.

The arboretum depends upon individual and corporate donations and membership fees to raise funds to cover its operational expenses. Events such as the yearly plant sale and the well known Halloween event, Brite Nites, also raise funds for WFA.
