There are opportunities to socialize and play with the adoptable cats and dogs at Sun Valley Animal Shelter on Tuesdays thru Sundays. Hours will vary and flexibility is available. We would like dedicated, responsible individuals, over the age of 18, who want to make a difference in the animals lives.
Other opportunities exist in our Resale Shoppe environment and assisting at the various Events to bring awareness and donations for the shelter. If you have special skills or talents, we would like the chance to visit with you and see how you can join our awesome volunteers!

Mission Statement
Sun Cities Animal Rescue Inc. (SCAR), dba "Sun Valley Animal Shelter" is a non-profit, tax exempt organization chartered as a No-Kill animal shelter.
Our mission is to provide humane housing, care and companionship for homeless dogs and cats in a comfortable setting which meets their physical and emotional needs until such time as adoption or other placement is secured. We are committed to cooperating with other area organizations dedicated to the rescue and care of homeless animals and to achieving humane solutions to the problem of pet overpopulation.
Vision Statement - Providing leadership and educating the community on animal welfare issues, we are the West Valley’s premier animal shelter, giving compassionate interim care with the goal of making successful, lasting partnerships between people and pets. Reduce euthanasia rates by increasing shelter adoptions, foster respect for animals and the responsibility of pet guardianship, and provide community awareness of the need to eliminate animal suffering due to abuse, neglect and ignorance.
Description
Sun Valley Animal Shelter functions as an adoption agency for cats and dogs. While at the shelter we provide for them in air conditioned living quarters, give medical care, and compassion. We have a resale shop that collects household items and this helps to partially finance the shelter. We solely rely on the community to provide the monetary and physical items that benefit our adoptable cats and dogs at the shelter.
