CHILDREN'S PROGRAM VOLUNTEERS
The purpose of the Children's Program is to create a safe and engaging place for children & youth to build self-esteem while creatively participating in activities that address their individuality, social identity, and positive connections with the community.
Some examples of activities that occur in the Children's Program are arts and crafts, reading time, computer time, group interaction, mentoring, tutoring, peer groups, storytelling and other special projects with a focus on ACES Program promoting STEM & STEAM Learning for Higher Education goals.
LifeMoves's Family shelters are located in numerous cities on the peninsula - this posting is specifically to volunteer at our shelter in Daly City.
This includes two different opportunities working with children
a. Children's Evening Program Volunteer: If you love working with children - Activity Leader is something you will enjoy. Help supervise, interact and provide playtime activities for homeless children & youth at the shelters.
b. ACES Homework Club & Tutor Program Volunteers: Tutors assist the children/youth in our programs with their schoolwork weekday afternoons following school. LifeMoves is looking for volunteers with experience working with STEM education especially.

Description
LifeMoves is the largest provider of homeless shelter and services in Silicon Valley. Our region is known for innovation and prosperity, yet the housing crisis is forcing thousands of our neighbors throughout San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties onto the streets.
This is where LifeMoves gets to work.
With 26 shelter and service sites from Daly City to San José, we give our neighbors experiencing homelessness a temporary place to call home while providing intensive, customized case management through both shelter programs and community outreach.
