The Keeper In Training(KIT) program is designed for 14-17 year olds who want to learn what it is like to work in an animal-centered career. KITs assist our professional keepers with animal diet preparation and a lot of cleaning. They also spend time educating visitors of all ages about our wildlife and biofact collections. May train to handle and show animals from our education collection (such as snakes, cockroaches, and tortoise).
KITs volunteer for two 6-hour shifts per month for at least 6 months. Responsibilities and privileges increase the longer you volunteer. There will be two new Keepers In Training selected during this process.

Our exhibits and educational programs inspire excitement, curiosity and discovery through distinctive interactive experiences.
