WHAT:
Volunteers are needed throughout Camden County to deliver meals to senior citizens
Many home-bound senior citizens in Camden County cannot provide daily, nutritious meals for themselves because of their health or financial situations.
Some do not have family, friends, or neighbors to assist them with basic necessities.
Senior Citizens United Community Services (SCUCS) is searching for Volunteers to deliver hot meals to these needy home-bound senior citizens.
WHEN:
Home Delivered Meals delivers 5 days a week, Monday through Friday.
Meals take about an hour a day to deliver.
Meals can be delivered any time between the hours of 10:00AM and 2:00PM.
Volunteers are needed everyday. Volunteers DO NOT need to volunteer everyday or even every week. We always need substitutes who volunteer based on availability.
WHERE:
Home Delivered Meals delivers to home-bound senior citizens throughout Camden County.
Home Delivered Meals will only ask Volunteers to deliver meals close to their homes or in area where the Volunteers are comfortable.
There are needy seniors in EVERY town in Camden County that need help!
HOW:
Volunteers will drive their own vehicles to deliver meals to the senior citizens. (SCUCS does reimburse for mileage, If requested).
Meals are delivered to a central location, where Volunteers pick up, and then deliver the meals.
Volunteers are provided a cooler to keep the food at the correct temperature.
Home Delivered Meals provides the Volunteer with Maps and Directions to the seniors house or apartment,
WHO:
This Volunteer opportunity is available to many people. The Home Delivered Meals program is perfect for:
- High School Seniors with their license
- College Students
- Retirees with free time during the day
- People who work 2nd or 3rd Shifts
- People with company volunteer incentives
- Caring people who want to help home-bound seniors in their community.
Please think about donating 1 hour out of your week to help a home-bound senior in your town.
WHAT IS NEEDED:
Home Delivered Meals Volunteers need to: * Posses a valid license, registration, insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle. * Be dependable and punctual. * Have great personal skills. * Enjoy helping those in need.
