The Chester County Health Department offers a unique opportunity to volunteer in your community. The efforts of this Department impact upon every citizen of Chester County. Our volunteers assist employees by completing general office duties and occasional projects according to need and volunteer expertise.
At present we have an urgent need for basic clerical help with our Environmental Land Records project. Direct hands-on instruction is provided through all phases of the project.
The Environmental Health staff receive many requests from County residents seeking information concerning a specific archived land record. These requests are called "file lookups". Volunteers will complete these "file lookup" requests using the Health Department’s computer.
All volunteers receive hands-on training. Our volunteer hours are (M-F) from 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Typically, our volunteers come in anywhere from a few hours a week to several days a week or whatever their personal schedule permits.

Description
The Chester County Health Department is mandated to deliver public health and environmental services within the 760 square mile area that encompasses Chester County, PA. Services provided by the Department are available to County residents regardless of race, color, religious creed, ancestry, national origin, age, handicap, or sex.
Volunteers assist staff in a variety of general office duties or occasionally on specific program tasks according to their qualifications and the need.
