We want the Rebuilding Alliance to be the place in San Mateo where everyone comes together to make peace and justice real. Our speakers series is now moving forward full-steam as two important international filmmakers confirmed to showcase their work in May.

Join our team to organize cool speakers, movie, and/or music events with food to be donated by local restaurants. We'll also hold olive oil tastings (we're selling fair trade organic olive oil from Palestine). Let's hold these events every two weeks and build buzz as we move forward.

This is a creative position, a lot of fun, requiring good attention to detail and thorough follow-through. We are recruiting 4 event planning interns in total. Each person takes the lead on their special event (once a month) and helps arrange details for the other events too. Each event planner will recruit additional volunteers (via Volunteermatch, asking friends) to assure the success of their event.

• Event Planning: * Great communication skills both over the phone and in person * Strong leadership skills * Ability to work individually or in a team environment * Be passionate about making a difference in your community * Self motivated go getter * Excellent time management abilities * Prior experience in any field dealing with customers or clients is a plus
