Office Volunteers Needed:

Office volunteers are a great help to our staff at OSS, helping to monitor the phone lines and to greet visitors in our main office. Between calls and greeting guests, they help with special projects and light administrative duties.

We welcome office volunteers of all office skill levels (computer proficiency is great, but not necessary). This is a great position for both college students and retired individuals.

Hours:

Our offices are open from 8am-5:30pm Monday-Friday. We ask that volunteers commit to at least one two-hour shift per week.

Please send an email stating your interest and availability to the Volunteer Coordinator.

About Our Sisters' School

Location:

145 Brownell Avenue, New Bedford, MA 02740, US

Mission Statement

Our Mission, as an independent, tuition-free, non-sectarian middle school, is to educate and inspire economically disadvantaged girls from the New Bedford area. Our Sisters' School empowers girls to step into the future with valuable life skills and a mindset of achievement and excellence by providing a safe, supportive, and academically challenging environment.

Description

Our Sisters' School seeks to foster the intellectual, moral, social and physical development of its students, and to nurture in a small-school setting the full potential of their characters. Since Opening Day in September 2008, the school's faculty and staff have worked closely with students' families and other volunteers, building ties between school and community, and developing the kinds of personal and institutional support that will ensure the continuing success of our students in high school, college, and in later life.
