Red kettle

Take the kettle challenge!

We need your help! The Red Kettle has been part of The Salvation Army's tradition since 1891. Today, kettles are part of The Salvation Army's efforts to raise funds so critical to our on-going operations. Unfortunately for some, the holiday season can mean unmanageable expenses, disappointed children, and empty stomachs. Bellringers can work alone or in pairs, encouraging pedestrian's to contribute with ringing and friendly demeanors.

Our kettle stands are "manned" Monday thru Saturday from early November until December 22nd. The Salvation Army will have already secured prior permission for you to stand at a designated location and all of the equipment will be provided. Only a four-hour time commitment is required and flexible hours make bell-ringing ideal for volunteers with tight schedules and families who want to share the kettle experience and help the needy. This opportunity is perfect for groups seeking a group project that will make a difference not just at this time of giving but throughout the year. Consider organizing a group from your corporation, school, service club, college, church etc that will commit to staffing a kettle for a day or more, simply rotate your members throughout the day in shifts.

There will be many kettle locations throughout New Jersey, one of which I am sure will be convenient for you.
